What is the difference between Class A and Class B credit?

Class A credits need AANA approval—Class B do not

Class A credits are assessed and are prior or non-prior approved by the AANA. Qualifying activities may include meetings, workshops, seminars, or online courses.

Class B credits do not require prior approval or an assessment. They are activities that do one of the following:

  • Enhances knowledge of anesthesia practice,
  • Supports patient safety, or
  • Fosters an understanding of the broader health care environment.
Visit the NBCRNA's Class B Requirements page for more information.
